Alongside Level and Game design, working in other fields related to the industry gives me a much greater perspective of game development as a whole. Listed below are some of the other areas in the development pipeline I have worked with and how it has helped me grow creatively.

Quality Assurance

During the beginning of my time in the industry I worked in Quality Assurance during which time I have worked on several AAA Titles and gained a great understanding of the development process. Here are some of the titles that I have worked on.

GRID (2019)

GRID

During most of my time working QA at Codemasters I worked on GRID (2019). Testing from the very first playable version all the way up to late development displayed several aspects of how work is assigned and prioritised in AAA titles.

Dirt Rally 2.0 (2018)

At the beginning of my employment at Codemasters I worked on Dirt Rally 2.0. Working on this game up to release and post release gave me an understanding of how the development and testing process changes through the cycles of a AAA project.

Game Jam Entrys

While at University in 2017 I joined up with a team of students to create a game based on the 'Waves' theme. The entry and all the information on the games design can be found here. It was a fun challenge and something I would like to do again at some point.

Substance Designer

Substance Designer is one of the most common material creation software found in the industry. Due to this I decided to learn the functions of the program to give me a better understanding of the development process as a whole while providing me with materials that can be used in my own levels/games further down the line.

Below are some of the materials I have created combining what I have learned from tutorials and some of my own work blending stylised with realistic. As Substance Designer shares a similar graph system to Unreal Engine 4 picking up the program was easier than expected and the ability to share graphs across different materials allowed creating multiple stylised materials much easier.
